Welcome to Yoga Centre Toronto, the home of Iyengar Yoga in Toronto. Iyengar yoga is a precise, systematic method of yoga as developed by B.K.S. Iyengar of Pune, India.
Our primary focus at the Yoga Centre is on the disciplines of the postures or asanas, and the breath. In our classes asanas are introduced gradually and systematically, under the guidance of certified knowledgeable teachers. Classes will eventually include standing poses, inversions, forward bends, backbends and twists, as well as positions for both quiet reflection and complete relaxation.
Asanas may be adapted for all ages and levels of fitness. Iyengar yoga lends itself to special needs resulting from injury, illness and chronic disease.
With concentrated movements to fine tune the body and to increase mobility, stability, strength and alignment and an intense concentration draws the attention inward – quieting and integrating the mind and body you will experience a class that will penetrate beyond your physical body.
